This is a terrible week for Indian cinema, with the passing of another legend, actor Rishi Kapoor. A wonderful actor, with a huge fan following across generations, he will be greatly missed. our condolences to his family, friends & fans all over the world, at this time of grief.

Rishi Kapoor (4 September 1952 – 30 April 2020) was an Indian actor, director and producer known for his work in Hindi cinema. He received the National Film Award for his debut role as a child artist in his fathers Raj Kapoor’s 1970 film Mera Naam Joker (1970). Kapoor had his first lead role as an adult opposite Dimple Kapadia in 1973 with the film Bobby and received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1974.
Before his death he played leading roles as the romantic lead in 92 films between 1973 and 2000, of which 36 were box office hits.[6] For his performance in Do Dooni Chaar, he won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor in 2011, and for his role in Kapoor & Sons, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2017. He was honoured with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. He appeared opposite his wife Neetu Singh in twelve films from 1973 and 1981. He died on 30 April 2020 from complications of bone marrow cancer, aged 67.
Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer in 2018 and went to New York City for treatment. After a successful treatment for over a year, Kapoor returned to India on 26 September 2019. He was admitted to Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai on 29 April 2020 after he complained of having difficulty breathing. He died on 30 April 2020.
It seems like we’re in the midst of a nightmare…just heard the depressing news of #RishiKapoor ji passing away, it’s heartbreaking. He was a legend, a great co-star and a good friend of the family. My thoughts and prayers with his family 🙏🏻
